Conversation at Our House

I've always kept this blog book related and nothing else, but we have really funny conversations at our house and I thought it would be fun to start sharing some of them here, periodically. It might help you get to know me and my family a little better!
-------------------------
Our boys are 12 and 9. They are inquisitive and curious. It's very common to hear the words, "I have a question..." multiple times a day. We want them to always feel like they can ask questions, so we do our best to answer everything or we find the answers together. They read. They think. They wonder.

Because of this, dinner time at our house is always fun. You never know what question is going to be asked next or whether it will be proceeded by an outburst of bodily function. One of our favorite questions came from J which was, "Why am I real?"

One particular dinner was no exception. It started out with E's question, "When you buy a house, do you pay for it all at once?" And while he and The Doctor were in the midst of an economic discussion, J pipes up with, "If the earth breaks, does everything start over again?" So, then we segue into a philosophical/religious/quantum physics discussion, at which point E interjects, "Hey, did you know that Thomas Edison had a pet goose?"

  1. Sounds like dinnertime at your house is a lot more interesting than at mine. It seems like all I ever say at the table is, "Sit down and eat" over and over and over again. LOL.
