Grave Consequences...Review

About the book:
The Powerful, Epic Romance Continues.

For Cora Kensington, the journey of a lifetime takes unexpected twists. And her future—her very life—depends on the decisions she’ll make at each crossroad. As her European tour with her newfound family takes her through Austria, France, and Italy, an unseen enemy trails close behind. Meanwhile, a forbidden love continues to claim her heart, putting everyone’s plans in danger.

And as Cora stays one step ahead of it all, what might need the most protection is her own heart, torn between the dramatic pursuit of a dashing Frenchman and a man who has been quietly staking claim to her affections all along. Love has dangers all its own. She must escape the bonds of the past and discover the faith to make the right choices, as each one has grave consequences.

Another delightful story from Lisa Bergren. Picking up where Glamorous Illusions left off, Cora and her newly discovered half-siblings continue their grand tour of Europe.  But danger follows them as they leave Paris and Cora realizes she must decide who has the most claim on her heart.

Light Christian, I enjoyed getting to know these characters again.  Pierre is just charming.  I was happy to see that Vivian redeems herself somewhat and I really do love Will.  Cora's father is a bully and I enjoyed seeing her spunk and strength as she yearns to find the balance between her new life of luxury and the simple farm girl she still is inside.

Second in the Grand Tour series, the book can stand alone, but they really need to be read in order because this one picks up in the middle of the tour right after the first one ends.  This is a terrific sequel to Glamorous Illusions and I look forward to the next one.

  1. This sounds like something that I would enjoy, and I am glad to hear that it doesn't suffer from the sophomore slump. I like the way that you've described it, and think that I will be looking for this one. Excellent review today!
