Weekend Reflections 7/9

Looking outside...it's cloudy and overcast. Currently 71 with a high of 81. It's been hot all week. We haven't hit triple digits and this isn't Vegas or Phoenix, but it has been hot this week. The heat and I don't get along. At all.

Listening...to The Boy shooting arrows. He's pulled out his bow and arrows again and is getting back into archery. The Boy took The Doctor to work early this morning. He doesn't work until this afternoon. The Artist is sleeping. As usual!

Loving...my A/C. I really love A/C.

Thinking...that I should get dressed, but my jammies are comfortable.

In my kitchen...a cup of hot chocolate right now. Not sure about dinner.

Wearing...purple pajamas.

Hoping...that our vehicle issues can get resolved soon. Both our cars are down for the count. We're borrowing my Mom's, but she will be able to drive again next week and so we will give it back. So grateful for her generosity in letting us use it.

Reading...still need to finish Summer of Dreams by Elizabeth Camden. I haven't been reading anything new. Just old favorites, which is comforting.

Today...The Artist is going on a scouting high adventure next week. He'll be biking for most of the week. We need to go to the bike store and have his tires fitted with heavy duty liners and slime. We also need to pick up supplies and pack.

Quoting..."Remember, we're madly in love, so it's all right to kiss me any time you feel like it." -- Peeta Mellark

Feeling...so tired and drained. Sometimes life feels overwhelming and too much work. It's hard to find joy in the journey. The highs are high and the lows are low.

And Dallas...my heart is breaking yet again because of the hatred people have for each other. Hate is not the answer to anything. Hashtags don't make this world better or make people take notice. It's not a Democrat or Republican thing. It's a human decency thing.

Planning...The Boy took a road trip to his college this week with his cousin who is visiting from California and who will be going to the same school in January. He found an apartment, so we need to apply.

Gratitude...for A/C. For great kids, for a wonderful husband.

From the world...

We had a wicked great Independence Day. Good food, family time and lots of fun. Oh, and fireworks. Lots and lots of fireworks.

What about you? What are you reflecting on this week? How has your week gone?

  1. We're not in Las Vegas or Phoenix either but it's sweltering here. We would think 81 was cool.
